Hi everyone,
This is a reminder that the Heads of Geography Q&A is on next Wednesday, as per the email below. Thanks to those people who have submitted questions and comments. I invite other members of this list to submit questions in advance of the Q&A by emailing phil.mcmanus at sydney.edu.au<mailto:phil.mcmanus at sydney.edu.au> and using the heading "Q&A session at IAG Conference". Thank you in anticipation.

I am looking forward to an interesting and engaging session at the IAG Conference in Adelaide.

All the best,

Phil

Hi everyone,
This year we are changing the format for the Heads of Geography session at the IAG Conference. The session will be an open Q&A with a panel of heads of geography (or their representatives) from universities throughout Australia. Other heads of geography will be among audience members and will participate in questions and discussions. Everyone is invited to the session which is on Wednesday 29th June at 10.50am in BJ3-30.

Panel Members - Lesley Head (Melbourne), Robyn Bartel (University of New England), George Curry (Curtin), Jennifer Carter (University of the Sunshine Coast) - hosted by Phil McManus (Sydney)

The aim of the session is to open up the annual Heads of Geography event to wider engagement from geographers at the conference and to those people who cannot attend this year. Topics could possibly include recent developments in geography, employing new staff, support for postgraduate students, the position of geography in various universities, diversity and equity, promoting the discipline, and so on. It is envisaged that issues and outcomes from this Q&A session could feed into the IAG AGM later at this conference, the Strategic Directions for Geography document and back to various universities. I hope that as many people as possible can attend this open session at the IAG Conference and engage in the discussions.

If people are unable to attend this session at the IAG Conference, please email phil.mcmanus at sydney.edu.au<mailto:phil.mcmanus at sydney.edu.au> using the heading "Q&A session at IAG Conference" and provide possible questions in advance. These may be read verbatim, summarised or compiled into a composite question on a topic if there are many questions on a particular issue. Thank you.

Best wishes,

Phil
