The successful candidate will:

*Be a social scientist whose research emphasises the co-production of environmental knowledge across organisations, networks, and disciplines to support sustainable land management in New Zealand

*Have a relevant PhD plus 2-5 yrs. additional related experience*

*Collaborate well in dispersed team environments and can be self-reliant

*Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels

*Provide support and build capacity to science staff working in relevant inter- and trans-disciplinary research, for solving "wicked problems"

*Have an understanding of and experience in social licence to operate with end-users and stakeholders

*Have experience in writing funding and/or research proposals and preparing budgets

*Be able to use a mix of quantitative and qualitative skills

*Appreciate and understand tikanga Maori
