Dear Colleagues,

The upcoming 2017 Nancy Hillier Memorial lecture may be of interest to list members.

Coordinated the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences UNSW, the annual lecture commemorates the life work of Botany Bay activist Nancy Hillier, and gives focus to the role of public participation in decision making. This year’s lecture will be held on Thursday 23 November starting 6pm, at NSW Parliament House.

With considerable public debate on Sydney's future swirling around us, we are especially pleased that the Keynote speaker is Amanda Tattersall, host of the ChangeMakers Podcast and founder of GetUp and the Sydney Alliance who will speak on citizen participation under the title "Sydney a city worth fighting for?"

In addition, the event will feature Eastlakes resident Tim Clifford, winner of the 2016 Lionel Bowen Award in 2016, film student and activist, will screen his short documentary on urban development in the Botany Bay area, with his commentary on contemporary local issues.

You can RSVP via the official invitation attached, or via the Nancy Hillier Webpage: https://www.arts.unsw.edu.au/events/the-2017-nancy-hillier-memorial-lecture-/

Best regards

Matthew
