1-5pm – Mobility forum commencing with lunch – student/’expert’ panels

Featuring students from several institutions and discussion with experts including Professor Aparna Rayaprol, University of Hyderabad; Professor Fazal Rizvi, University of Melbourne; Trevor Goddard, reference group member DFAT New Colombo Plan. This expert panel will be chaired by Dr Haripriya Rangan, Director of Research and Academic Programs, Australia India Institute. The forum draws on research undertaken by Deakin University researchers, Dr Liudmila Kirpitchenko, Dr Michele Lobo and Professor David Lowe.

5-7pm – Student life, New Colombo Plan and the Indian diaspora – insights from community leaders and activists including

  *   Eshan Arya, host of the radio show, SOCH and regular writer for The New International Magazine and Indian Weekly
  *   Ravi Bhatia, Former CEO Primus Telecom Australia, and Chairman and Founder of Primus International Education Group​
  *   Dr. Mohit R. Pandit, Chartered Marketer, Creative Industry and Social Media Researcher at RMIT University Melbourne (and with 9 music albums to his credit)
  *   Bina Shah, General Manager of IAEC Education/Migration
  *   Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa, spoken word artist, activist, educator, performer, National Poetry Slam finalist, star on Australia’s Got Talent and former Youth Commissioner, Victorian Multicultural Commission
  *   Followed by a fantasic comedy routine by Abhishek Panchal, Indian student and stand-up comedian.
