PhD Scholarship: Improving Livelihoods of Smallholder Coffee Communities in Papua New Guinea
Curtin University has a scholarship available for a PhD student to join a multidisciplinary team of researchers working on an Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) funded project titled 'Improving Livelihoods of Smallholder Coffee Communities in Papua New Guinea' (ASEM-2016-100) (see https://pacificlivelihoods.com/projects/ for a detailed description of this project). We are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated student to conduct long-term socio-economic fieldwork at the community level in the Papua New Guinea highlands. The student will, within the scope of the broader project, be able to identify their own research topic in negotiation with the project researchers. The student will join researchers George Curry, Gina Koczberski and Tim Sharp at Curtin University, Perth, and will work alongside other collaborating researchers in Australia and Papua New Guinea (see https://pacificlivelihoods.com/ for details on the wider research program). The scholarship is open to Australian and New Zealand Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents and Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holders. The scholarship includes a stipend top-up, and fieldwork funds.

Applications close: 2 September 2018.
