Hi all (and apologies for cross-posting)

The Geographical Society of NSW (GSNSW) will be hosting its inaugural Writing Retreat to be held from 4th-7th February, 2019, at the historic Mount Victoria Manor (http://www.mountvictoriamanor.com.au), the Blue Mountains.

The purpose of the retreat is to a dedicated block of time, as well as collegiate interaction, networking and support, for the development of focused advances in academic writing. With input and guidance from ‘expert’ facilitators, the retreat will provide a collective opportunity for thinking through how to write both productively and in lively, engaging styles.

A draft schedule for the retreat can be found here: https://www.geogsoc.org.au/client_images/2072995.pdf

The fee structure for the GSNSW Writing Retreat is outlined below…

GSNSW 2019 Writing Retreat Fee Structure:
Full Rate: for those with institutional support or high income (4 places available).

$500

Medium Rate: for those with no institutional support and medium income (7 places available).

$350 (subsidy of $150, 30% discount)

Low Rate: PhD students, precariously employed or unemployed (7 places available).

$250 (subsidy of $250, 50% discount)

Fees cover retreat activities, 3 nights accommodation and all meals. However, participants will be responsible for getting themselves to and from the venue (the location of the retreat is near Mount Victoria Station).

It will be greatly appreciated if those who are able to pay the full fee elect to do so. This will allow the Society to support the attendance of those members with no institutional support, medium-low income, precariously employed, unemployed, and students.
