AECURN and ACRN will fund TEN PhD Candidates and ECRs to attend SOAC 2019
The Australasian Early Career Urban Research Network (AECURN) and the Australasian Cities Research Network (ACRN) is excited to announce that we will be sponsoring the registration fees for ten ‘Emerging Scholars’ to attend the State of Australian Cities (SOAC) conference in Perth in December this year. The scholarships will cover the registration costs for up to ten PhD students and / or Early Career Researchers (ECRs) (in academia or practice within two years of receiving their doctorate at the time of submitting their abstract). Scholarship recipients will be highlighted in the conference program and on the website as Emerging Scholars.

For more details about SOAC, please visit the conference website<https://wordpress.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c9be983feba54568e1c15312d&id=5bc8bf4b13&e=4d3b834e0f>.

As ECRs committed to helping other ECRs we couldn't be happier about being able to provide this financial support, generously funded by the Australasian Cities Research Network.

The scholarships will be awarded to researchers currently affiliated with an Australasian university (in Australia or New Zealand) or residing in Australasia without a University affiliation. The scholarships will be awarded based on the quality of the SOAC abstract and evidence that the applicant would not otherwise receive funding to attend the conference. The abstracts will be judged by a panel of senior and early career researchers to assess the quality of the research contribution. Applicants will also be asked to write a short justification and obtain a letter of recommendation from a supervisor to attest to the fact that they wouldn’t otherwise receive financial support for conference registration.

Please check out the AECURN website<https://wordpress.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c9be983feba54568e1c15312d&id=adbb7f9a3e&e=4d3b834e0f> for more details. To submit your application please email aecurn at gmail.com<mailto:aecurn at gmail.com>. Applications are due June 30th.

As always, please circulate this message through your networks to anyone you think may be interested.

Professor Emma Baker (ACRN, University of Adelaide)
Professor Jago Dodson (ACRN, RMIT)
