Hi Maria,

Could you please send the following out to the Geographic Community including heads of schools of Geography.


Harvey Franklin died, aged  87, on 30th Sept.   Harvey was appointed to a Junior Lectureship at VUW in 1951 when he was 23.   He served as Professor of Geography for 18 years, retiring in 1993.   He was one of New Zealand's most outstanding geographers.  


His funeral will be held on Thursday.  I invite anyone who would like to comment or recollection to email me so I can convey a sense of the Geographic community's loss.
