Subject: Call for 1 Aboriginal PhD Application with Scholarship

Dear colleague,

Deakin University has released a call for Applications for 1 PhD scholarship for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.

This project, funded through an Australian Research Council Linkage award, aims to understand contemporary Australian Aboriginal connections to 'Country'.

This project, being co-led by Deakin University and Griffith University, is a joint partnership with the the Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation and their community and the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation and their community, in partnership with LaTrobe University.

This EOI / advertised scholarship involves working with the Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation and their community.

The scholarship requires being based in Geelong with Deakin University.

The Deakin University call is formally listed at http://www.deakin.edu.au/study-at-deakin/scholarships-and-awards/research-degree-scholarships and an additional information flyer is attached.

I would invite you to send this information to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander you consider it would meet with their career objectives, recognising the normal academic entry requirements to gain university PhD entry.

Applicants are encouraged to contact Professor David Jones at (03) 5227 8763 david.jones@deakin.edu.au for the Deakin-based application, before submitting an application.

Kind regards,

David
