Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia) will offer up to 10 full-time Research Fellowship positions commencing in 2020. Fellowships will be awarded on a competitive basis and are offered in two formats:
• 100% research over three years
• 75% research and 25% teaching over 4 years (this format is only available on the basis of Department funding for salary to cover the 25% teaching component)
Applicants must have been awarded their PhD on or after 1 March 2016, or submit their thesis on or before 26 August 2019 (or make a convincing case for early career researcher status).
If you have an interest in applying for a Fellowship in the 2020 round through the Department of Geography and Planning, please email:
To A/Prof Kristian Ruming (Kristian.ruming@mq.edu.au) by Wednesday, 8 May 2019.
If the Department is able to sponsor your application, you will be notified by 15 May 2019. Sponsored applicants will then be invited to work with their sponsors to develop their formal Expressions of Interest which must be submitted to the University by 30 May 2019.
It is important that there is a good fit between the research interests of applicants and sponsors. For this reason, potential applicants are strongly advised to review the research profiles of potential sponsors.
These can be viewed via the Department staff list available
here. A copy of the Department 2018 Research Report can be found
here. The report provides an overview of staff and research strengths within the Department.
Further information is available at the following link. Please note that the documents for the 2020 scheme will be available from 16 April 2019. The documents for fellowships which commenced in 2019 are for information only.
