Today’s Sun-Herald (8 December 2019) contains a significant article on Benchmarking Sydney, a new report by the Committee for Sydney. The newspaper article covers an important critique by Associate Professor Kurt Iveson of Sydney University. How gratifying it is to find geographers so effectively engaged in public issues of public consequence. Would there were more of us so involved. Geography needs such publicity. And how gratifying to find Kurt Iveson described expressly as an “urban geographer,” rather than as some garden variety “earth scientist.” Bully for you, Kurt!
